Apple has unveiled its new Studio Display and Studio Display XDR, available for pre-order now. The XDR boasts a stunning 27-inch 5K Retina XDR panel with mini-LED, ideal for professionals. The standard Studio Display receives significant upgrades including a 12MP Center Stage camera and Thunderbolt 5 connectivity, allowing for daisy-chaining multiple displays.
Apple has officially taken the wraps off its refreshed Studio Display lineup—the Studio Display and all-new Studio Display XDR. Both monitors go up for pre-order starting today, March 4, with deliveries and in-store availability kicking off March 11. The headliner is Studio Display XDR, which Apple is calling “the world’s best pro display.” It packs a 27-inch 5K Retina XDR panel with a mini-LED backlight, over 2,300 local dimming zones, and 2,000 nits of peak HDR brightness. There’s also a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, support for both P3 and Adobe RGB colour gamuts, and a 120Hz refresh rate with Adaptive Sync that adjusts frame rates between 47Hz and 120Hz. In short, it’s built for HDR video editors, colourists, 3D artists, and anyone who needs dead-accurate colours on screen.
What does the standard Studio Display get
The regular Studio Display keeps its 27-inch 5K Retina panel with 600 nits of brightness and P3 wide colour, but gets meaningful upgrades elsewhere. There’s a new 12MP Center Stage camera with Desk View support, a six-speaker sound system that now delivers 30 percent deeper bass, and—crucially—Thunderbolt 5 connectivity. That last bit means you can daisy-chain up to four Studio Displays together for nearly 60 million pixels, which is a pretty wild setup if your Mac can handle it. Both displays share the same studio-quality three-microphone array and come with a Thunderbolt 5 Pro cable in the box. The XDR model pushes up to 140W of charging power, enough to fast-charge a 16-inch MacBook Pro, while the standard model tops out at 96W.
How much do Studio Display and Studio Display XDR cost in India
The Studio Display starts at Rs 1,89,900 with a tilt-adjustable stand. The Studio Display XDR, which replaces the older Pro Display XDR, starts at Rs 3,99,900 and includes a tilt- and height-adjustable stand out of the box. Both are available in standard or nano-texture glass options. Education pricing knocks Rs 12,000 off each model.
