The Vegas Golden Knights have added some forward depth, acquiring winger Cole Smith from the Nashville Predators in exchange for defence prospect Christoffer Sedoff and a 2028 third-round draft pick.

The 30-year-old has tallied six goals and four assists over 42 games with the Predators in 2025-26, his sixth season in Nashville.
Smith is in the final season of a two-year contract, featuring an average annual value of $1 million.
A native of Brainerd, Minnesota, Smith has 23 goals and 39 assists over 271 career games in the NHL, all with the Preds. He’s played in five playoff games.
Sedoff, a 24-year-old from Finland, has recorded four assists over 38 games with the AHL’s Henderson Silver Knights this season.
The Golden Knights sit first in the Pacific Division with a 28-19-14 record.
